alcoholic drink inspired cakes without using alcohol?

i've been tasked to bring dessert for a friend's baby shower. our friends and i agreed that it would be fun to make a cake (or cupcakes) that are inspired by some alcoholic beverage. so we thought it would be funny to make such a dessert because the pregnancy is the result of an epic drunken night. lol. but since it's for a baby shower, it has to be non-alcoholic.

any suggestions?

I remember a recipe for a non-alcoholic drink from a cooking book... It was a next-morning-mojito, or something. I can't remember how it was made, but there were strawberries and some mint.

Or for a school party we had a non alcoholic cocktail bar where we served a lot of cocktails. The only one I remember is Swimming Pool. It had milk and blue curacao.

If I was at home I could help you more because I have a booklet with a lot of non alcoholic cocktails.

I thought that pineapple coconut cake would be great, and there's a Margarita pie (http://www.dessertfortwo.com/2011/05/margarita-pie/), just leave the tequila.

just fyi, alcohol bakes out of the cake... unless you plan on adding the whole fifth. lol. the only thing you really have to worry about is the frosting.

You could just decorate them to look like different drinks?

For margaritas you could put that large sugar around the outside of the cupcake, martinis with fake pimento olives made out of candy, etc.

Or you want something easier you could print out pictures of different drinks onto cardstock and attach a tooth pick for cute little cupcake pick.

Another idea would be a cake in the shape of a martini. I think you could probably just use a square cake pan. cut the cake corner to corner so that it is two triangles. Keep on as the top part of the glass. Take the other triangle and cut off a long strip from the bottom to use as the stem and bottom triangle for the bottom of the glass. Then you could just ice it all cute.

pina colada cupcakes, pineapple upside down cake with coconut topping?
cosmopolitan cupcakes, orange and lime cupcakes with cranberry topping?
margarita cupcakes, orange/lime cupcake with lime/orange topping?
sex on the beach cupcakes, orange and cranberry cupcakes with peach and raspberry topping?
woo woo cupcakes, peach cupcakes with cranberry topping?

that's just how i'd go about it, then maybe make some little cupcake picks with pictures or the names of the various cocktails on them so people know what drinks they're eating
obviously by topping i mean buttercream, frosting or icing as i know people have different preferences for cake topping

my friend who's coming with me to the shower suggested that i bake the cupcakes in shot glasses. so i can make whatever flavor and it would still be alcoholic inspired. i think it's a cool idea. i just need to find shot glasses that are thick enough to survive the oven.
