I'd like some recipes for food that's very popular in your country. I'm talking about about pbj sandwiches (I even don't know what kind of jelly to use), how do I make a good pumpkin pie with which pumpkin? And what do people in other countries like to eat? The only thing I'm sure I never want to try is vegemite.  Grin
I hope you can help me.

I made this pumpkin tart for my Harry Potter party, and used butternut pumpkin for the filling.  It turned out very well!

I'm Australian.  Lamingtons are a thing here.

PB&J - I think everybody has their own favorite way. Smiley I like strawberry jam or concord grape jelly. Pretty much any jam or jelly that's made from berries will work well. Also, I like mine made with cheap whole wheat bread and creamy peanut butter. Just like Mom used to make!

Thank you both.

My best friend said PB&J was made with orange jam. I think it's awful. ^^; I think strawberry would be much better.
Another thing I love to eat is peanut butter with Nutella. Yummy. ^^

A few days ago I found a recipe for pumpkin pie spice, you can't buy that here.

Like marmalade? Yuck! I tried that once when I ran out of jam. It was terrible.

Oh. Haha. Sorry. Okay, to the best of my knowledge, jam has chunks of fruit in it, jelly is smooth and i think it's just made with the juice. Marmalade is made from citrus (oranges, lemons, etc.) and I think it has bits of the peel in it.

Sorry. Your english is so good, it's easy to forget that you're from another culture. Smiley

Thank you for the explanation. ^^
So it's lthe same way as in Germany. We have Marmelade, which is made from citrus fruits, Konfitre is made from any other fruit, and Gelee is made from juice.

I didn't know my English was that good. ^^; I wrote a card for one of my swap partners yesterday and found so many mistakes.
I've had English class for about 8 years in school, but I learned much better when I got access to the internet. (I hate it that we learn british English in school.)
