I have been trying to devise a good way to keep my neck cool during classes in the overheated buildings here in winter. I get heat induced migraines and have failed finals already from those rooms (they get to 85 degrees!!). This may be perfect! I have never seen these cubes though, maybe I can look online. I'm thinking it'd be pretty with black nylons.
Thanks so much!

Okay, now that you've been gardening with your brilliantly brilliant necklace...
how long did it keep frozen?
did you get wet when the cubes thawed?
did you care?? LOL!

brilliant idea!

The ice cubes stay frozen about 30-45 minutes, just long enough to bring down your body temperature. And no, they don't sweat as they melt (well maybe a little damp but not enough to have that dreadful drop of ice water running down your shirt)! Wink

I saw star shaped ice cubes (could you really call them cubes? lol) at bed bath and beyond. if you could get the shape to stand out in the nylon i bet they would be even cuter!

Yeah, I saw penguins and polar bears!

For the stars, what if you used coordiinating thread and defined the corners by going over the diagonals? Or, so the thread would be less obvious, pass it under the nylon in the front, come out at the corner and back under for behind. I don't know if I'm making sense...?

What an awesome idea! I live in Florida where it's so hot and humid in the summer. Spending time outside is not on my list of things to do, but a necklace like this might just make the heat a little more tolerable.

I made one for my dog to wear on really hot days, and he seems to appreciate it. I need to make another one so I can switch them out. Smiley
