I am vending for my very first even this coming Sunday. I would love your thoughts about how my table is set up for display. Right now it is set up in the craft space, but on Sunday I will be outside (please don't rain!!).

Left Side of the table

And here is the towel rack thing I am going to use to display my t-shirt bags.

(try to ignore the clutter around it please)

I also have an old garden gate that I plan to attach wire baskets to for displaying my vinyl record containers.

Thanks for looking and I appreciate your input!

Could the towel rack stand on the table? Then (I think) it would be about eye height for walking customers and may attract more attention to your table. I like that you have a plain, bright colour background, it makes your goods stand out more.

The record bowls are a nice touch because it still celebrates the handmade movement, accenting the charming small items inside. I like the headband display. I will have to swipe that idea because I struggle with displaying headbands.

Your journals are darling. I like how your display shows off the colorful thread binding.

Antidigger- Thank you for the advice. I could try the towel rack on the table, the only thing is with it on the floor, it is already about 4ft high. I will give it a try in the morning before I start packing everything up to see how it looks. I will also try it out while setting up. It may look better on the table outside where there is less clutter above the table.

Helena- Thank you. Here is the link that gave me the general idea for the shape (I was just to lazy to do all the work involved Smiley ) http://aymeetries.blogspot.com/2010/08/headband-display-tutorial.html?showComment=1305608262669#c1468738611836359372

I appreciate the comments!

I like the way you have the journals set out, especially with the colorful wrappings. If I was walking by my hands would be itching to pick them up! Smiley

I might have to set out a sign letting people know it is ok to pick up and play with the items on display. Maybe something along the lines of "I don't charge a handling fee, so feel free to handle to your hearts content!"

Because really, what is the benefit to selling in person vs. on-line if the customers can't touch, feel, pet, or play with the things I have made?

Kaotic, I also recommend that you raise the bag display.  Maybe just set it on a sturdy box next to the table.  Definitely things at eye level get attention.

I LOVE the CD rack journal display!  Do they slide out easily?  And back in?  Shoppers might be hesitant to pick them up if they think they might damage it.  If I ever get to selling books, I might very well borrow your idea.

Yes, do invite folks to touch!

Just a little thing that might be more about the picture than a real issue, but the "felt flowers" sign in the front of the first picture feels like it's blocking the flowers themselves.  Maybe move it back behind the plates or shorten it a bit?  Again, in person, it might not be an issue.  You might want to identify what they are with a sign too... pins, hair clips, etc.

Good luck!!

MunLt- I will have to play with the CD rack to see how easy they are to take out and replace. I didn't even think of that.
Good point on the felt flower sign. I will be adding prices to all the signs tomorrow, so I will update that as well.

For the bag display, I could probably use one of the totes that I will be packing my stuff in. I am bringing extra of the fabric I am using for the table cover, so I could just make sure the fabric hangs over the edge enough to cover the tote.

I will take pictures on Sunday and add them here. Thanks for all the help!

Thanks everyone for the advice! I had a really good time on Sunday. The group of people I was surrounded by were great. Very supportive and nice.

Here is a picture of my display all set up

I had fun, made some new friends, swapped some items, and even sold some! I learned a lot and I am really looking forward to next month Smiley
