Thought this recipe would fit in well here... Cake Mix Waffles!  I have a more elaborate write up on my recipe website (www.BrowniePointsBlog.com), but really- any cake mix will do (using brownie batter was unfortunatley not as successfull).

Just heat up a waffle iron, and plop mixed up cake mix in it.  The picture above is Devil's Food Cake with strawberries and sweetened whipped cream.

Enjoy!

thanks!

If anyone's looking for advice on taking pictures of their food:
- use day light
- make sure one can see your food in the photo
- be mindfull of what shows up in the background... keep it uncluttered

That looks good! Does it taste like cake? How long did you leave it in the iron?

It does taste like cake- though the edges are a bit crispy, and the entire waffle is firmer than a cake would be.
Most waffle irons have a sensor that times your waffle cooking time for you- they are kind of automatic.  Go by your waffle iron's normal sensor.

so i made these the other day as a desert for my grandmas birthday topped with fresh sliced apricots macerated in sugar and some cinnamon, and it was super yummy.

I was just trying to think up something different to make for the state fair this year, and this would be a terrific idea - using my own cake batter, of course!
