River Song's TARDIS Diary

Complete with a spare key to the TARDIS, here is my version of River Song's diary. I usually make wrap-style journals with leather covers, but I wanted to try something different. It's just a new excuse to use the free-motion foot on my sewing machine.

I used medieval long-stitch. With leather, I punch the holes in the cover before stitching...couldn't do that with fabric, I had to guess at the spacing, but it doesn't look too bad. I did make one group of stitches longer than the other (again).    'Measure twice, punch once' ought to be my new mantra.

There are 240 sheets (480 pages) of natural-colored writing paper. The overall measurements are 8"x6"x2".

I just love this screen-printed fabric! It's like the view from the TARDIS windows.

That is gorgeous, I would totally write spoilers in that! The inside fabric is perfect! River Song has really grown on me as a character.
