I love the filler stitch that scifunk has used for the mushroom stalk, what stitch is that?

The birdy hoop is cool too. I like hoops that have a lot of 'plain space' it really adds to the design in the same way that some plain fabrics in a quilt can accent the patterns and make it more calm. Although I also enjoy the hoops that are filled with sugar strand stitches or daisy's too, so I guess it works both ways!

Embroidery stitches tend to have lots of different names, but I call it diamond ray stitch. Here's a detail shot that shows a bunch of the stitches:

The door is basketweave stitch, the gnome's outfit is satin, his beard is french knots, and his hat starts out as brick stitch and then winds up as a kind of long and short stitch type thing.

Thanks for posting a close up shot SciFunk. I love how well the details came through.  Smiley

I'm still trying to figure out my camera to get great shots like that.  Undecided
