So... I've been organising the Metal Swap which has been a LOT of fun, people making lovely ROCKING things over there  Grin Grin

2 of the things I made for my partner included embroidery, the second is NSFW  Wink

Here's the first, an embroidered pvc/faux leather patch inspired by a line from the cult metal cartoon Metalocalypse:

and the second was a make up bag made from an altered version of the "Straight Sided Triangular Cosmetic Bag" ... what I've started to do is make this bag and enclose a nice encouraging positive message in the lining fabric to encourage the user to have a postive outlook on their day ahead:

(that, my friends, is a Children of Bodom lyric... and it's begging to be embroidered onto a bib or baby-shirt  Grin )

That's awesome. I love how great embroidery looks on leather, a surprising contrast but perfectly suited.

I wasn't sure if I would be able to embroider on the pvc/leather I was worried that I wouldnt be able to stretch it enough on the hoop, and that holes from poking the needle through in the wrong place would show.. but neither of those things were a problem... what was a pain was transferring the design over, what I had to do in the end was pin a piece of paper onto the PVC and embroider over the top of it, and it was really difficult to get rid of the paper afterwards (tissue paper would have probably been better... )

but yes  Cheesy my partner said she was really happy  Grin whick is nice

Both of those are so cool! Stitching on the pvc was brave but really paid off - it looks great! You have great choice in subject matter, too - so much love for Metalocalypse and COB Smiley

I completely forgot about the metal swap but just had a nosey at the thread - some great things coming out of it \m/
