After working in Moominworld theme park in Naantali I really wanted to try to crochet some Moomin characters. I was really happy when someone ordered crocheted Little My from me so I could finally take time for making one. I don't know if you're familiar with the Moomins but if you wish to read more about them you can find a Wikipedia article here.

Little My is mischievous and playful character who lives with the Moomins. She has a bad temper but she is always there for her friends.
This here is my crocheted version of her. She is about 18 cm tall.

And here is how Tove Jansson, the creator of Moomins, saw Little My:

Very good! As everyone else has said, you got her just right. I'm especially impressed with the hair, I bet that took ages.

Thank you, everyone!

Yeah, you're right, Angry Angel. Compared to the other parts the hair took the longest time to make. I had to make the bun separately and I attached it to the head later.

I am quite happy with the doll but there is one part that is somehow a bit off, IMO. It's the eyes.  Undecided I just wish I could have made them some other way but I am not really sure how.

She looks brilliant! Do you write your patterns down and have you ever made a Snuffkin? He was always my fave :-)

I haven't made Snuffkin yet but maybe I will make someday. I have kind of special bond with the Moomins after working with them. Cheesy I don't usually write down patterns for the dolls I make because it slows down my work but if I ever make Snuffkin I'll keep in mind that there might be others interested in making him also. I love her as she is, but maybe if you outline the eyes, or stitch across the top of them it would make them more prominent.
