I made this for the most recent hoopla swap. I am proud how it came out. It was so hard to send. I am going to try to make one for myself. The seahorse I painted with watercolors. I love how it gives it dimension and makes it pop out.

This was before it was completed.

Once it was done

C & C welcome. What do you think?

I love this! I love the look of the watercolors. I've seen acrylic paints and crayon tinting used, but love the softness (and blending) of the watercolors. How did you keep if from bleeding? And did you do anything to set the paint afterwards?

Gorgeous... it truly does give it a lot of dimension and it is so soft and elegant.  I am also very fond of seahorses!

It did bleed a little bit as you can see down by the belly. I took some bleach water and blotted. I found that using qtips vs brushes worked the best after embroidering. More control over liquid.

Thank you for the compliments! They mean a lot. I just hope she loves it as much as I do!

That is beautiful, I really love the effect of the watercolour, and the detail of the tail curled around the coral is just perfect.

I love this! I've discovered a sudden love for Seahorses on my recent trip to our city's aquarium. Did you draw this out or is it a pattern? It's just lovely and you've captured the expression on the seahorse perfectly. Love the colors you used..were you able to set the color? The colors are wonderful...such a nice job you did.
