The week before Easter, I found out that my cousin was having a baby "sprinkle" (small baby shower) on Easter. That week, I knitted constantly, and the day of the sprinkle, I barely finished this baby hat and bootees. Talk about cutting it close! Yesterday, I found out that my cousin had her baby on Thursday! Yay! Cheesy

For the hat, I used the Miss Dashwood pattern http://knitty.com/ISSUEwinter04/PATTmissdashwood.html, which I really liked! The only change I made was to omit the earflaps, because I was running out of time.

I used a simple bootee pattern from The Knitter's Bible. They were very quick to work up! I knit the hat and bootees with Caron's Spa yarn in the color Soft Sunshine. This yarn is so silky soft!

Modeling the hat is the family skull, Yorick. Wink
