I found a bedspread/quilt marked down on urbanoutfitters.com ($30  Shocked instead of $100!!! ) and had to get it. Here's a closeup:

Then I bought a bedskirt at Bed Bath & Beyond to coordinate:

But then I needed shams to go with the new bed. I decided patchwork would look good.
Here's the sham in progress:

A closeup of the finished sham:

Here's how it looks on the bed:

And finally, a pic of the whole bed:

Now the only thing I need is an accent pillow or two, but I'm going to have to get more fabric later this week. Any ideas on what type of accent pillow I should make? Thanks for looking!

hehe...Yeah lots of patience, especially since I don't know how to quilt or use rotary cutters or whatever it is that quilters use. BUT...I am determined to make a quilt one day before I die  Grin

BEAUTIFUL! i love the patch work! as an idea, i LOVE mis-matched, but Matching patterns...(ex., you could gather a bunch of different paisly, flowers prints, in all sorts of colors, shapes, and sizes,) and have a "FLower power" theme... that's what i would do...  Cheesy

I love pink and green combinations - it is so pretty and refreshing.  You did a great job - I don't think I'd have the patience at all for a large project like that!

Beautiful shams... I'm in awe of your patience and quilting capabilities.  As for an accent pillow, well, you've already done pattern and quilt, so maybe it's time for some stripes? One with green and white stripes and the other with pink and white.

sloshanimal I love the stripes idea. Someone posted a ribbon pillow on here a while back so I'll have to take a look at that one for inspiration.

Thanks for the compliments, everyone!  Smiley You're all very sweet
