I have a tendency to embroider things that I don't see very often. This beauty took me about 30 hours and I loved just about every minute of it.

I'm hoping to find him a home someday.

Thanks! I wanted to capture the drama of the original artwork and had a few arguments with DH who said the long stitches were too loose and ruined it. (what does he know. lol)

It ended up being about 6 1/2" wide and 10" tall. He's pretty big.

It's stuff like this that made me start embroidering again.  This is absolutely beautiful.  I love how you used the white thread against the black background - totally epic.

Can I ask how you go about embroidering white on dark?  Do you use solvy or chalk or something to transfer the pattern?

Holy Sweet Stitches, Batman!  Shocked

Seriously it is so dramatic with those looooong stitches, like a paint brush... you know, I really don't have the words for this one, but I love it!

I found a silver quilting pencil, it transferred pretty easily. Instead of trying to iron on transfer it I actually blew it up to the right proportions on my computer monitor (a flat screen) then traced it right on to the fabric. It showed pretty well through the fabric, I was thrilled it worked. I kept having to redraw over the lines as I worked because they'd rub off.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. I love this one, I've done some more difficult color work but for some reason this plain black and white image is so much more powerful than even the most difficult color work I've done.

Always glad to share. I think there's such an impact that a black or dark background can make and this piece is a perfect example of it. Cheesy
