Well technically not first...I've made a little tote and cell phone case in my sewing class but this is the first  thing I've done without my sewing instructor standing over my shoulder telling me what to do  Wink

It is the Baby Sundress/Tunic/Top from the kids tute list  ----> http://madebypetchy.blogspot.com/2008/06/free-pattern-baby-dresstunic.html

I completely screwed up the casing and sewed my binding over it so I had to cut it off after I realised my mistake. And well... it looks a bit weird. But I'm hoping I can fix it up to give as a gift for my brother's first baby, due this June  Grin

I'm thinking about getting metal legs. It's a risky operation, but it'll be worth it.

It looks great as it is. I'd be delighted to receive it for a baby.

Very cute! I love your fabric choices.

Thanks for the pattern link. I have a friend that just had a baby and I've been looking for some easy projects to make her little girl.

I've been sewing since ... oh, about 1977 ... and I still screw up binding every time I try to use it!  I think it's super cute and I'm sure baby will love it  Cheesy

Nice!  I like how it's lined.  I'm going to try this top next, looks pretty simple.
