Oh my wow, I thought it was made of wood at first! You did a fantastic job of painting and decorating it, not to mention making an amazingly shaped hat in the first place...if I may be so cheesy, I take my hat off to you! Wink

We love decoupaging with tissue paper.  Really easy and gives a nice texture when stained.  My mom used to transform hobby horses into carousel horses.  And, she'd use the tissue on some of them for a cool effect.  She also tried printed tissue that turned out pretty cool.  Tissue is a great way to dress up ordinary gift boxes.  To get a good wrinkly leathery look its best to wad up the tissue into a tight ball before flattening it to apply to the project.  Same technique works really well with brown paper sacks and wrapping paper.

A fantastic idea, it's great to recycle old cereal boxes, but I've never imagined doing this.  Looks great ! Cheesy

Thanks!  Our family eats a LOT of cereal! Over time we've found all kinds of ways to reuse the boxes.  With a crafty kid in the house, we save all kinds of food containers, too. They're handy art supplies.  Cereal boxes are right up there with paper sacks, napkin tubes, egg cartons and meat trays. Smiley

Really cool. I think I will use this as inspiration for a couple of hats I need.
