i was in the one tiny str wars thing swap, and my partner prettyrustyrobot mentioned that she liked tauntauns...WEIRD.. .so do i!!! i did a little research, and didn't find many toys, so i looked at my daughter's old my little ponies and thought, "wow...that kinda looks like a tauntaun"...thus, he was born....

on to the progress shots!!!

i did A LOT of sculpting with the feet and arms

COUNTLESS hours of mod-podging little tufts of hair all over his body...

it was really hard to let this one go, considering that i am a HUGE star wars nerd, AND it was my first altered pony ever...i think he has an awesome home now, though...so i feel a bit better.

Wow! I love this! Having done a few pony mods myself I know how much work goes into them. I had to duplicate my first one since it was for a swap here and I didn't want to let it go. I don't think I've ever seen one with fur like this. Very creative!

What material did you use for sculpting?

thanks, y'all!!!

i used sculpey for the feet, hands, and tail...and crossed my fingers when i baked the whole thing...came to find out ponies are quite tolerant to heat!!!!
