It had been hot and sunny for the last few weeks so I thought I ought to get around to making my daughter a summer dress. I made this following From an Igloo's Shirred Twirly Dress tutorial -- nice and easy as it's all just rectangles. I hadn't shirred before, but I definitely will again; I was a bit dubious about the result initially but all the shirring tutorials that tell you to blast it with steam are absolutely right -- that tightened it up nicely.

Of course, it's now cold and grey and miserable. But if we do eventually get a summer she's now prepared...

So cute!  Love the gingham and floral together.  She can always wear it over a t-shirt until it gets warmer.

Thank you!

It's warmed up again now, so she's getting plenty of wear out of it after all...
