Toto by the Ear is one of my favorite illustrations in the Wizard of Oz. I really like the subtle lines to show the tornado. And, of course, it just funny that Dorothy caught Toto by the ear before they were blown away.

This is one of my favorite designs that I created using the PCStitch Pro computer program. After I imported the illustration from my illustrated copy of Wizard of Oz into the program, I evened out some of the colors so I wasn't changing colors every other square and drew in the detail. If I could do it over, I think I would change Toto, maybe add backstitching to create a shaggy coat. I tried to make him a little splotchy though, adding lots of brown, gray, black, and white into his coat.  But I think I got his face down.

What do you think?

I love Toto's expression! He looks slightly annoyed that Dorothy caught him by the ear.  Wink
Wonderful, detailed work!

Thank you so much for noticing that little detail. I wasn't sure I recreated the Toto's expression properly.

I'm so happy to hear everyone's comments and that the humor behind the piece was recognized. I truly appreciate everyone's comments. It's so encouraging.
