How to add an attachment

These screenshots were taken using Firefox 4 on a Mac.  Your browser may vary slightly.

When you add an attachment either at the start of a topic, as a reply, or when modifying, you simply hit "Additional Options" underneath the text box.


That will give you this, and you just select the file from your computer.


If you want to add more, you can hit "more attachments". You can add up to 4 attachments to one post with a max size per file of about 2MB (8MB per post). (You will be prompted if you try to add more than 4 attachments.)

I know this doesn't apply to me but i've just been made away of the 'Additional Options' link. Huh... I can't believe i've never noticed it before! Thanks!

I've just tried to add my first attachment and I get a message saying "The attachments upload directory is not writable. Your attachment or avatar cannot be saved."

How can I fix it?

Was the attachment within the size limit?

Hi jungrrl, yes it was. I tried a pdf and a jpg seperately, both under 2000 KB but no love.
