Ready for awesomeness? I received from monnie yesterday. Without further adieu, here are the pictures!!

I've always wanted to learn soap making, not the melt and pour but "real" soap but I don't want to use animal stuff to do it.  Any tips or books I should check out and a few recipes that I've found for CP says to use a stick blender for trace, would a hand mixer work?

You can get all vegetable shortening, for experimenting, it is cheap, google crisco shortening recipe, and then just use all vegetable type.  I find a hand mixer doesn't do the same thing, but I got my stick blender for $8 at walmart

Today my sister Ciara would be 22.  My mom and I went and got memorial tattoos and when I got home there was this giant box waiting for me. My wonderful partner had it packed by professionals! So on to the photos (in my excitement I didn't take pictures of the nice packaging)

I love this picture!  I can't wait to hang it up in out new house.


This box is amazing! I was full of great things.  Some healing stones, a Buddha bead, a hand carved spiral stamp and a plastic ear of corn.  (side story: When my sister Ciara was younger, she had one of those little kitchens and mom had bought her lots of plastic food.  My moms neighbors had tons of goats.  Ciara had fed all her plastic food to the goats. The corn brought back so many memories)

Speaking of fabric, Rosie gave me two yards of fabric in the styles that I LOVE.

I think I am going to make some pillows to throw on my couch... Or maybe a quilt... Oh the possibilities!

And some wonderful soap.  Did you make this?  I can't wait to use it!


And my ABSOLUTE favorite!  A handmade journal cover!  (and when I say handmade, I mean she stitched every single stitch by HAND - and there are a LOT of stitches!).  This literally brought tears to my eyes!


Not only is the cover hand made, she decorated the pages inside with inspirational quotes.  Here is one of my favorites:


And when I am done with those pages, I can easily insert another journal.  Genius!

I had no idea that you collected beads.    The fabric was given to us girls from my grandparents trip to Hawaii (a better souvenir than a t-shirt).  The soap is handmade but not from scratch, I made it with a m&p kit but we love it. I didn't over decorate the journal cover so you can add little trinkets as you fill it. The yoga bag was super easy to make and I'm glad you like the fabric too.  This was a great swap, Thanks dreadlocklove for hosting!    <3

Awesome stamp.  Are they time consuming to make?  I'd like to try carving out some Reiki symbols.  What are the names of the stones?

The ones that I sent are river stones that I wrote on.  The ones she sent are, tigers eye, quartz, blue topaz(little jar),agate and one that I know but I can't think of the name, it helps promote healing, green and orangie pink. *after a google search it's unakite*

I am just now reading these responses!  Sorry. 

The stamping is easy (and soooo calming).  I found some Youtube videos that helped a lot. 

Basically, I drew the symbol on a sticky note and colored it in with pencil.  Then I put the colored part on the stamp and rubbed the pencil markings on the stamp.  Then carve the non- colored part out with carving tools.

The teas and oils are all personal blends that I created. I'm a certified herbalist and my tea recipes came from that knowledge. They are mainly for easing pain and relaxation. The oils are chakra blends, to help stimulate and open the chakras.
