Cherry blossoms are so pretty.  I was inspired to put them on a t-shirt, and give the shirt a little cutesy flair on the sleeves.  Here's what happened:

To do something like this, you will need:
A plain white t-shirt
Felt
Scissors
Fabric Glue
Lace
Thread
A sewing machine would be nice, but it's optional

I started by cutting the sleeves to make them a little shorter.  I pinned them up about 1/2", pinned the lace on the bottom, and sewed it all together.  This was a pain, even with a sewing machine.  Prepare to spend some time getting the hems and the sleeves right.

Then, I cut cherry blossoms out of felt.  I arranged them how I wanted on the shirt, and glued them down.  Very easy.  Open to interpretation, too, if cherries aren't your thing.

I don't know how the shirt (especially the sleeves) would survive a machine-washing, so I hand wash this one.

lovely shirt!

i HATE doing sleeves- they always look wonky! saying that- i was thinking that a slight lower neckline might suit your shirt- give it a more feminine edge, not that it's not already super lovely.

I was thinking that, too.  It could sort of follow the angle of the branch going over the shoulder...I may have to play with it some more.

yeah, that's what I had in mind when I saw it- even just a v-neck sort of thing, with or without additional lace.

that's so pretty, I want something with cherry blossoms on it now. Brings back fond memopries of my youth, I had a big cherry tree in my yard. But then we moved and I went back to visit the house and the tree was dead! I was sad, stupid people and their stupid non-watering ways! Blast you! Anyways,  great shirt, I love it to much! You did a great job with the actual flowers to, better than I could do. Oh, and Begin Again, I LOOOOOVE the doggy in your picture!

Thanks Hardcandy, it is simply the cutest dog ever, isn't it? i feel like such a fraud as it's not my dog. I don't even have a dog. Or a cherry blossom tree. Or a shirt to embroider....ha ha! I'll start with finding a shirt I think!

That looks so nice!  The lace around the sleeves looks vintage.
