A load of old rubbish!

First of all I have to say thank you to the lovely tutorial on this page http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=232043.0 from lovething who inspired me.

It's been a work of love and has taken far, far longer than I ever imagined it could. On the way it inspired some trivets and maybe, if I feel up to it, a necklace, but that comes later, much later!



So that you know scale, it's 30cm high, about the same as an ordinary room waste bin. It has a lovely urn shape that just evolved as I glued it.

How pretty! Is it very sturdy?

Fairly sturdy. 

I pick it up by putting my fingers through several of the rings: it came apart when my friend picked it up full by just one ring, but a little hot glue solved that (and in making the repair I noticed that only one of the original 4 hot glue joints had stuck properly when I did it first time).

It did survive an 8 yr old using it as a helmet all day!
