Hi everyone,

I thought I would put up a few pictures of my latest batch of dolls. The first three came about after I discovered some coloured lace and I thought they would make nice tights!

And my most recent four were an experiment into making my dolls a bit more...well, curvy! They look a bit like they are silicone-enhanced, but I like them! Cheesy

The last one, with the blue dress is my favourite - I can't decide whether to keep her or sell her...I'd be sad to part with her, even though I haven't known her long Cheesy
Thank you for taking a look Craftsters!! xx

I think I would like the Bratz dolls if they looked more like this. I love them! They look so sassy (and not mean like the Bratz) and cute and fun! I want to be their friend!

Thank you so much everyone for your kind comments.

Sharalee, I don't really decide ahead of time what I'm doing, or what eyes go with what ourfit...I just kind of make it up as I go along. Any time that I have tried to pre-plan, the doll never ends up anything like what I've had in mind...

I had the 4 'curvy' doll bodies lying on my craft table before I had dressed them the other day, when my Dad came through as siad 'Lesley, why are you making porn dolls?'!! Cheesy What a cheek to describe my girls like that (even though they are voluptuous!!) Cheesy Cheesy

Thanks for explaining. I think that's a good way to do it. Make it up as you go. Sometimes planing doesn't work. So that's great. They are all beautiful. How long does it take you to finish one Doll from start to end? My favorite is the one in the black lace stockings & black up-do hair & second one is the hair with like two points & marble hair color, but I love them all!!!!!!   Cheesy

Hello!

That's a tricky question to answer because I tend to make up doll parts in big batches and I normally work on about 3 at a time - that way I can jump from one to another and it saves me getting bored! I would say that I could make a more simple doll in a day, and a more detailed one might take a couple of days. I probably spend most time on the faces, and everything else I try to make a simply as possible - I choose fabric that's nice to look at, and little bits and pieces like flowers and pieces of jewellery which can make the doll look really nice, but is all quite simple to put together.

Some of my favourite doll artists make dolls that are so detailed and intricate, and they clearly spend weeks and weeks on each one...I just don't have the patience for that - I like to find the easiest way to do things, heehee!! Cheesy

I'm toying with the idea of making and selling some patterns and instructions for my little dolls. I'm not sure if people would be interested, but I think that it might be worth a try (if I can ever put down my needle and thread! Cheesy)

Oh my gosh, as a regular lace junkie, I love the lace tights, and ESPECIALLY the lace fingerless gloves! Too cute!
