Hi,
i make felted slippers, they are perfect but need to solve the problem with the soles. I was wondering what is the best - rubber soles, leather soles or just using a liquid latex. I dont have experience with non of that and actually i dont really know where to buy that stuff - rubber soles for slipper so i can use them outside or liquid latex. Anyone can help??
thanks

I'm new to felting, so I have no idea what other people do.  But I do know that rubber gloves make a nice, just-grippy-enough slipper sole!  Just cut a slit up the side, you should have enough material to cut out an adult-sized sole from each glove.  A friend of mine did this because her toddler couldn't walk on their hardwood floors in felted slippers, and it was really easy.

I always think leather soles are an elegant option for slippers.  I've cut leather for soles from suede coats from the thrift store.  If you're lucky, you might score a leather jacket for 99 cents at a thrift store and have plenty of leather for soles from that.

I cut out a sole shape, then took a leather punch and punched small holes all around the edges to allow me to sew the sole to the bottom of the slipper.  Worked well!

I've not used any kind of latex or rubber coating, but I've seen something called Plasti Dip recommended on lots of forums.  It should be readily available at hardware stores and especially bigger places like Home Depot.  Here's a conversation link from another forum that discusses it.  Again, I have no personal experience, just sharing this info:

Good luck!  Let us know what you end up using!
