i finally decided to be brave and try a felted knit project, and it was so much fun!  the pattern is from the book "Pursenalities" by Eva Wiechmann.  i'm really pleased with how it turned out, and can't wait to try some more felted knit projects.  yay!!   Cheesy   so, without further ado, here it is:

It's so bright and fluffy, it's mesmerizing! I heart felted fuzzy bags.

thanks everyone!

the yarn i used was 2 strands of Paton's Classic Merino wool and one strand of a synthetic fuzzy novelty yarn which i had left over from another project (i got it at AC Moore awhile back, but i don't remember the name).  for the top inch or so and the handle, i used 2 strands of the wool, with 1 strand of Paton's Brilliant.  i'm still learning about this whole knitting and felting process, but i assume that 2 strands of wool (as opposed to one) are used to make the fabric thicker and sturdier.

That is so cool.  I haven't even ventured into novelty yarns yet, although I may pick up some of the stuff for sale at JoAnn's this weekend.  Felted purses are a lot of fun to make, I think, because there is always the question of "what is this going to look like when it's done?  How big will it be?  How much will it felt?".  I've made two versions of the Sophie purse from Mag Knits, with two different kinds of yarn, and both came out a little different.  My sister has asked for one, and I plan to use the yarn the pattern actually calls for, which is Cascade 220.

Felted knits ARE addictive!!!   Smiley
