I made this a little while ago for a newbie swap, but just now posting.  I found the purple fabric first, and then couldn't stop until I found some Elvis vinyl.  I have this one completed and another half way done.  This was the first record purse I made, so it's not perfect, but I was pretty happy with it, and my swap partner seemed to like it.

Thanks for taking a look!

I don't have a very good pic of the handles, they are braided pleather.

I've never seen anything like this.  Where did you learn to do it?

I've never seen anything like this.  Where did you learn to do it?

There are several vendors on etsy.  I ran across them when I was looking for something to do with the cool vinyl I had picked up at yard sales.  There are some cool sites where people created books and scrapbook pages too.   I figured it out from the pic.  I think I did my lining different.  I used bias tape to clean up the edges.

This on is a little different than the one I made, but it's a good tutorial

I cut the album by scoring it with an xacto and breaking it at the score line on the edge of a counter.  Much easier than using a saw.

google image search "album purse" and you'll see a lot of takes on the idea.

Thanks for the comment.
