haven't posted anything for ages

latest finished cross-stitch, based on a design by dave fox, made the pattern on a website (dark lilac) that i don't think exists anymore. . .

i usually give away the things i cross-stitch - this one i think i'm keeping

took months. . .not sure how many exactly as i have a habit of picking things up and leaving them for a while as i start something new. maybe 6 months?

i wanted to do something big and ambitious and crazy and colourful and fun. this is probably one of the bigger pieces i have done

That's an awful lot of work! He's really well stitched.

Look twice, buy once. Nooooo
Look twice, decide I can make one instead.

That's... incredible! I absolutely love and adore this bit of stitchery. I find cross-stitching interminable but I'd take on a project like this and finish it for sure, it's just amazing! I want to make this so much now, wowzers.

The bad news: There is no key to happiness.
The good news: It isn't locked.
I swear by my pretty pink bonnet I will end you!

That's awesome!  In my head I always imagine cross stitch as dull patterns of floweres and cats and dogs but this has certainly changed my mind about that!

thanks people. i find cross-stitch a very soothing, relaxing activity but i hate most of the cross-stitch patterns out there (far too cutesy), so i make my own. if i'm going to be looking at the picture for months on end, i want it to be an image i bloody well like!  and i loved this one

i have very addictive personality. . .i can literally do it for hours on end. oddly enough though, i don't have the patience or knitting?!
