You can buy auto paint, complete with the thing that'll spray it, so it's a nice even coat.  My dad painted his car that way once, and it came out nice.  Generally people'll try to get you not to do it yourself, because most people don't do it themselves, so people naturally assume it's a bad idea.  You should go for it.

Yay! Thank you for answering that for me before I even asked! I live in Augusta, GA and was wondering about Georgia's laws pertaining to scooters. I have been promised a scooter with our tax return or for my birthday, yay! I am so excited!

i think it depends on if it is more than 50ccs you have to have a liscense.... if its a moped (under 50ccs) the age might be a little younger. feel free to correct me if i am wrong! Smiley

I'm not sure about in the US, but in Canada even for limited speed motorcycles (under 50cc) you need to have a regular drivers license so you must be at least 16 to ride one

I've been tossing around the idea of getting a scooter for a while now. I can now say craftster may have tipped me over the edge, not only are they a damn fine looking machine but they're cheap as heck to run! My current plan is to trade in my little mid-90's bubble car (mazda 121) and get an old van for driving (roadtrips, lugging stuff to markets/fairs/etc) and the scooter for day to day stuff.
Are there any obvious holes in my plan that I'm missing purely because I'm in love with the idea of owning a scooter?

All we need is a little more hope, a little more joy. All we need is a little more light, a little less weight, a little more freedom.
