I made this a little while ago....a cute Box Pouch.

I use it to hold all of my 'grab-and-go' sewing tools (embroidery scissors, pins, needles, tape measures, water erasable fabric marker and some cute other things. It's small, yet the perfect size.

I followed this ladies' tutorial http://modernquiltlove.wordpress.com/2009/07/14/perfect-box-pouch-tutorial/

Hope you like it xo

Very neat. It is so useful to keep everything together on the go.

I do mine a little bit different to keep the zipper seams and bottom seams from showing. Sew the zipper in like you would on a flat zipper pouch. Then sew the bottom seam of the lining together, then the bottom seam of the outside together. Pull the outside through the inside so that you basically have an inside out tube. Then finish the ends like she describes.

Thanks for that Smiley The inside of mine does look a bit rough, if I make one as a gift I think I will try your suggestion to give it a nicer finish.

Very nice! Smiley I think I came across the same project last month. It looks like an easy-enough project for a beginner sewer and zip user Cheesy I bought a whole bunch of zips a while ago, and even have one the same colour as the one you've used. It's such a pretty, rich pink.

I've made some of those, and the zipper goes all floopy when you open and close it unless you sew in pull tabs at each end of the zipper.
