First off, I am very happy to finally be posting something after a long, long ass time. Work has kicked off immensely - so I haven't been able to do any of my stuff! :|

But now that I had a few days to spare (and a growing pile of cut-up fabric that needs to be out together!!), I thought I should crack on with a frock that has been sitting on the shelf for a few months. I had loads of plans for my blue cotton - halter with a gathered bust, contrasting bodice with a full navy blue skirt, something with red in it....gah! In the end, I settled for a basic strapless circle dress with a red trim. Smiley Then I thought, 'Yeah...looks a bit naked...' so it went back on the shelf until I could think of something else.

Work went mental - there went another few weeks.

Then my boyfriend took me into town to the local haberdashery shop to get something - forgot what it was now - when he spotted some cute red and white anchor/life saver patches. 'You know that dress you were working on? These would look really cute on the front....' So I bought them, slapped them on the front of the bodice.....et voila!!

The finished product. I am happy how it turned out - I think it looks lush. Cheesy Very summery - just begging to be worn on the sea front. Smiley

Only problem is that it's a tiny bit too big - so I'll have to see if any of my friends want it. Tongue

Very cute! Nice find on those anchors, really makes the whole piece some together.
Last time I took my boyfriend fabric shopping with me he found dozens of vintage fabric covered buttons.

Good to see another project from you. Always so inspiring. Smiley

I would, but my wardrobe is already heaving with dresses that I have made for myself and from work....the b/f told me I need to cut down, as I tend to buy loads of shoes to with them. Tongue -x-

So awesome. Is it just a cotton fabric?

Yep, just your normal bog standard navy blue cotton Smiley Probably the best colout to work with as you can pretty much team with any colour (as wrong as it may look sometimes!) but still manages to look all right. Tongue -x-
