I got the itch to make another sea creature! This is the Blue Sea Star (or Blue Linckia). It looks a little different from other sea stars because of its tubular arms & bright blue colouring. Naturally it was the colour that sold me!

Amigurumi Blue Sea Star
150 yrds Cascade 220 wool
Size 6 knitting needles (2 circs or 1 long one for magic loop)
Polyester stuffing
Note: It is necessary to work this either on two circulars, or magic loop. Also gauge is not necessary. All that is important is that it is worked tight enough so that stuffing won’t poke through.
Arm: CO 2 sts. Put one st on each needle.
Round 1: Kfb twice (4 sts)
Round 2: Kfb four times (8 sts)
Round 3: *Kfb, k 2, kfb, rep from * on second needle (12 sts)
Round 4: *Kfb, k 4, kfb, rep from * on second needle (16 sts)
K every round plain until arm measures 5.5” from tip. Cut thread. Put sts onto spare thread. Stuff with polyester stuffing.
Make 4 more arms the same way. DO NOT CUT THREAD on last arm.
Top of the Body: *K2tog, k 4, ssk, leave rem 8 sts on thread, rep from * on the next arm. Continue until all 5 arms have been attached. Reattach to work in the round (30 sts)
Next round: K plain
Next round: *K2tog, k 2, ssk, rep from * across round (20 sts)
Next round: K plain
Next round: *K2tog, ssk, rept from * across round (10 sts)
Next round: K plain
Draw thread through sts.
Make the bottom of the body the same way as the top, using the 8 sts left over on the thread. Stuff body before drawing sts shut. There may be small holes between the arms. Don’t worry, just sew them shut.
This pattern has not been tested so let me know if there is any errors!
