Recently I bought an absolutely beautiful antique spice rack from a local vintage findings store and I decided to make a kind of spooky apothecary for spices!

I bought a bunch of small jars with cork lids and some chemistry flasks as the containers...

Then I took some watercolour tape and fed it through my typewriter. I have a collection of small vintage border stamps that I used to frame the text!

I cut them out, wet the back of the tape with a sponge and voila

I would also like to thank my mother for tirelessly growing, harvesting, drying and saving many of my spices.

sorry for my crappy camera phone.

This is just too awesome. Smiley I don't usually use many spices currently but this is just too awesome of an idea to not attempt to copy, at the very least because it looks amazing.

haha, that is awesome! I would feel like I was making some sort of a witches potion every time I cooked something.

I love personal swaps, I currently need art (paintings or something to hang on a wall) but I'd be up for anything.

That's great!  I love it.  Is it twice as fun to use your spices now? Cheesy

What a fun idea! All my spices stay stashed in a cabinet.  Embarrassed I always have to dig to find what I want- this looks so much better! Does the rest of your kitchen have a similar mad scientist/apothecary theme?! That would be the coolest kitchen EVAH!!!  Grin

I love it, especially with the mini skull included!  I would be so tempted to write things like 'eye of newt' and 'powdered unicorn horn' on the labels. Wink
