JUNE GRANNY-A-DAY

This is basically a motivation crochetalong. If you want to work on a granny square, motif, one huge granny square blanket, this is a great way to set aside time everyday to get some serious work completed in an attainable amount of time.

People have come up with some really neat uses for grannys too! Different bags and blankets, shopping sack holder, slippers, scarves, a nifty pullover etc. I have made 7" grannys and after a month I have 30 squares that make a perfect size throw blanket.

If you are intrested and would like to join we would love to see your work! Post pics of progress and then at the end of the month post a pic of al that you accomplished! It would be great if everyone could post progress weekly (but not required). At the end of the month we can piece together our work and show off our afghans and Inga bags and whatever else you can come up with to make with nifty grannies! (Must post a completed project or progress pic in this thread.)

I might have to try this out but probably won't get more than one a day done since I'm a beginner. I tried doing a granny square already but was having trouble. I'll have to give it another shot.

I'll be happy to join, but since I jOined the Granny-a-day May on May 26, I only got three squares done. Would I be able to continue using those squares?

Yesterday I made 16 squares towards my Mario blanket...lets hope I can manage that many across June today!

This'll be a nice break though.  Maybe it will be give me even more motivation to finish up
the other things I'm supposed to be doing, lol.

i also want to do a mario 8-bit granny square blanket for my brother-in-law. i'm kind of intimidated by the thought, though. i'm not sure how i want to attatch them yet, but i'll probably end up doing an as-you-go method.

Here are the finished granny projects for May...while I was making swap squares these ones were a bit too small/big and then a few extra to use up yarn!! =]  I left them at my Sis's for the kiddos there.

I might be a little late, but I'm totally doing this one! I want to make 30 different styles of granny squares and sew them into a nice scarf.

I'll have to make up for the first 4 days, but it'll be fun!

DITTO!  Satruday is a "Daddy" day in our house....DH wakes up with our twins so I get to sleep in (or at least sneak my secret stash from under the bed to under the covers LOL)

These are the granny squares I've done for a jacket I'm making for my future grandbaby (due in Aug)  I ran out of yarn & of course it has been discontinued...grrr r!  I finally found a source & as soon as it comes in I'll get started again.  I have 18 squares & I need 38 so I'll be here awhile!

Saturday is a good day for the Mister to be distracted playing video games and I can stitch...=]  Except this weekend I'll be on the road going to visit dear grandbaby, her mother and my son....=]

I've been working on mine for two and a half months now, and here are my hexagons, not quite squares, but grannies all the same if you'd like to call them that...

I haven't been here in ages, mostly due to busy-ness. I've got a granny bag that's almost finished - I left it off in the middle of attaching handles - and I picked it up the other day intending to FINALLY finish it and I can't find my crochet hook!! And I can't remember what size it was either. I vaguely remember borrowing it from the project to pick up a dropped knitting stitch... obviously I didn't return it and now I have no idea what I did with it. Arrrrgh!

I finished my first granny square afghan!! Well, at least the granny square part of it. It's a picture of Link from Zelda. I'll post it soon, but I want to put an edging on it first, to make it look really finished.

Here is where I am on mine:


It shows 14 rows, but I got 15 put on yesterday.  I'm making up squares, but will hold off until the Gd's swap I'm in is over to add on the last 6 rows.  I'm adding in the ones I get from partners to complete this afghan!  I've got plenty of knitting to finish up this month, too! =]
