Thanks everybody for your very kind responses! Makes me happy  Grin
I'm glad I made the decision to use the felt, now I'm sure to keep it there.

You all make such cute amigurumi too!

I like the brown felt. I think the eye might disappear otherwise. Your bunny is beautiful...so realistic!!!

Love your pattern! I want to cuddle him =D Most patterns for bunnies are like Teddy Bears just with long ears, so I really like your realistic approach (of course the "unrealistic" bunnies are cute, too! ^^ )

I had a bunny, too for 9 years and I loved him dearly.

Oh, I wish we could have had Boefje for 9 years! She was so sweet and fun, hopping around in our house. She died after only 4 years, she had blood cancer and tumours everywhere in here body. The way she died on our way to the vet was horrible and still makes me so sad, she was the sweetest pet! That stupid arse of a vet told us the week before she had a cold and made us give the poor bunny antibiotics...she hated that...so we felt like we almost had to torture her in her last week, and then you hear it was all wrong and she didn't have a cold at all.

Sorry, a little of topic. I just needed to make a realistic version of her instead of the bear like bunnies you said.

I just use crochet thread, or bedspread thread #10 and crochet a circle.....I use a stick pin that I painted the flat small round circle white or what ever color you like for a glint in the eye, if I crochet the black area of the eye along with the white.  I cut some of the pin sticking out of the back off and then with a needle nose pliers I curl the rest of the pin to lay flat on the back of the eye piece. Then I sew the whole thing on the animal/piece I am making.

I made my own owl for a friend who requested it for her daughter.  I ended up making the nose out of polymer clay....

Ooh, I love your bunny!  Excellent job on the pattern making.  I'm sure it was a hassle while you were doing it, but what a gorgeous result.

It's just great there are so many methods to make nice eyes.

And thanks for your compliment purple_sense, as a matter of fact, I'm working on a new and better version of that bunny at the moment. It will be finished soon I hope. That pattern I'm going to sell in my craftsy shop for a few dollars.

I just posted a few previews of the crochet lop rabbit at my blog, so if you're curious....
