Try saying THAT five times fast...  Tongue Sorry, alliteration fan over here... I know, I'm a nerd.

So I haven't been around for a long time what with college taking up all my time lately and getting engaged (And yes, expect a crafty wedding post coming soon! It's going to be a diy wedding). I've been holed up all of fall, winter, and spring doing homework and studying for tests, so this is how I rewarded myself now that summer is here! I made a dress!

The dress is really simple. I have had this skirt hanging in my closet for a while just waiting to be made into a dress. I finally got to it and paired it with some black contrasting fabric (say thanks to my old dance pants) and it's the first time I've really used knit. It wasn't too hard. I enjoyed it and whipped this dress up in about an hour and a half. There's lots of ways to wear it, I just didn't take that many pictures. It's hot outside. Tongue I think I'll wear it on my date with the fiance tonight! The reason I call it a salsa dress is because I can just picture someone kicking it on the dance floor in it dancing to salsa music. It's very twirly and fun to wear!
On to pictures!

Edited artsy photo.

Dance pants that I used for the top.

Grandma thrift skirt that I got for a dollar.

Sassy look?

That's it! It was easy and fun and such a good project to get back into my crafty habits. There are a couple more pictures on my blog. http://texanmusings.blogspot.com/2011/05/summer-dress-2011-edition.html

That looks really cute! I love it when a few simple but well-thought stitches make a great outfit, and this is certainly the case Cheesy
