I'm so glad you liked it, Alchamy! It was oodles of fun. The cane began life as an umbrella. I wanted the umbrella fabric for a tote bag for a swap(the bag didn't come out very well)...then the metal tines became part of a windchime for yet another swap...
And now I'm hounding everyone I know for old umbrellas and canes. I have to brag a little. I went to the art store to show this off before I mailed it. And the manager took pictures, and asked if I knew about the steampunk art gallery, and did I know they're looking for artists for the June show?
It's a little gallery called Number Nine Design, and I almost didn't go in, but I did. I showed the owner the cane, and she asked if I had more!!!!
So I have four more in various stages of completion. I'm so glad I found the courage. Even if I don't sell a one, I'm happy.

Hey girls! Get your wisting fingers ready because I got Larissa-Rasputin's parcel into my hot little hands yesterday and it is fantastic!

Please excuse the kinda "derp" faces, the sun was setting and my mom has a wonderful talent for asking questions right before she snaps a picture. Also, I'm not bearing my belly because I just got home from work and noticed that my shirt matched the whole gamut just perfectly!

I am loving everything Larissa sent. She made bits for my bellydance costume. It's great because my first troupe performance is next Friday!

First up, a full body shot of everything.Teensy awesome top hat, a flight wings-inspired barrette, fantastic loooong leather earrings, under bust belt with chains that look great with shimmies, great gun, and a super flattering skirt.

A backshot of the belt and barrette. She made the dingly parts on the belt with fishing lures! Isn't that fantastic? I would have never thought of that, but I am totally storing the idea for later.

Obligatory backbend shot. I think I'm probably going to end up wearing these earrings to the club as well as to practice!

A closeup of the hat and earrings. The hat has a peacock eye plume on it, so cute! And it looks like the whole thing is all hand stitched in tiny little stitches. I'm sure it was lots of work and it really paid off! It looks great!

And another shot of the earrings and belt. I cannot get over the earrings.

Thank you so much Larissa-Rasputin! I love everything to bits and I know I'll get so much use out of them. My mom even said "I don't know how she knew how to flatter your figure so well. Everything fits like a dream!" I wore everything to practice today and all the ladies fell over themselves gushing about it all. You did a wonderful job. Thank you thank you thank you.

I know everyone says they have the best packages but I have the best package.

On to the loot!

This puppy is heavy! She put little pieces of scrapbook paper, gears, and little pretties as a temporay picture but I think its to pretty to change.

Next up we have a lovely bag. Its made of vintage velvet and is much darker and rich looking in person. I love the chains and doo dads she put on it.

I tried to get a picture of the gears and cogs she embossed on the velvet.

This is a little closer to the actually color. I adore this medalion.

She sent me this absolutely exquisite piece of scrapbook paper. Its from a series called steampunk debutante, she used the same series for the little picture frames. I couldn't bear to cut it up and use it so I framed it. Granted I had to cut it to do it and it was a bit painful but I love how it looks in the frames. Silly to be this excited over a piece of paper Roll Eyes

Lots of little extras. i used most of my antique lace stash on her swap so she sent me more. I laughed out loud when I saw that little blue box, I had sent one of her items in it.

There was also this wonderful antique ladies spat in a shadowbox but unfortunately the glass broke. Its at my parents for my dad to fix so i don't have a pic of it. Maybe my partner can post on till I get it back.

This was one of the best swap packages Ive ever gotten and really made me remember why I love swapping so much.

I'm so happy you liked everything!  I was afraid of the glass breaking, I am glad your dad can fix it.

Here's a pic of the shadowbox.

Here's another of the bag where you can see the embossing and color--I used the gears from the shadowbox to emboss the velvet.  I may have to make myself one because I loved how it turned out.

That tiny top hat it darling, and the skirt is fab too!

The framed spat and all the little bits and bobs surrounding it is a great idea! And that velvet embossed bag - love it!!
