Hi Everyone,

My best friend owns a boutique, and she's moving into the direction of making her own clothing and handbags for the store...  Her birthday is coming up, and I thought it would be the most killer gift to get her labels made up that she can sew into her creations.

I've googled with no success...  Does anyone know where to get custom labels (woven or printed) that are affordable?

Thanks!

A company called Cash (maybe Cash's Custom Labels, I forget) can do them-they are in the UK (Coventry?) but I'm sure you can find them with a google search. They are pretty reasonable but I've only ever bought quantity-the first order always works out pricey as you will be paying for artwork & set-up.

But...there is another way, which is pretty good....here's what you do-you'll need some software like corel printhouse or maybe you can do it on your pc as it is? draw up your labels on a business card-size-you can use any font/images you want...make sure you leave a plain border, about 1/4" all round the card size. Copy this so you have a sheet of business cards (probably about 8 or 10 per page) and print off on iron-on transfer paper...don't forget to reverse the image!

You can then press this onto a basic muslin (99c from Hancocks), cut out each one & turn under the 1/4" or so border you left clear. Voila! Hand printed labels ready to sew on.

I'm not suggesting you stay up all night ironing on label artwork, but maybe prepare a few sheets for her & give her the kit to do the rest?

Fab idea!  thanks...  that fits my budget a little better.  I love her, but 500-1000US is a bit beyond my means.

i'm looking into this same thing.... so far i found some advertised on:

www.sarah1980.com (under "custom produced add-ons")

they sent me a quote for 500 and it seems really reasonably priced, even considering shipment costs for having them posted out from the us to europe... the only thing is that it takes a couple of weeks for them to make, and then shipping time... Sad
Depends if you're in a rush i guess Wink

Try www.ablelabels.com.  While the 100% custom labels come with a 500 minimum, they do have a section where you can order smaller numbers. They are not totally customizable, but you can pick colors, fonts, etc. and they're very cheap. I myself purchased 1000 custom labels, and the quality is super.  Even with a custom logo, the turnaround time was only a couple weeks.

I also found the following sites, though I haven't bought any from them:

http://www.itsmineusa.com/personalized-sewing-labels.htm
http://www.namemaker.com
https://www.namelabels.com

Seems pretty affordable.

Good luck!

My friend was making labels and she got that paper that is printable fabric for printers. It looked good, I dont know how strong you want them to be though.
