OK so I didnt actually do this, but it was my idea and it was done for me.

My dad, who is awsome, is the kind of guy who cant say he loves me. So he makes me things. Anyone who has seen any of my room posts will know I brag about what dad has done, made, refinished for me.

I am a huge movie and tv show person. I was getting so many box set of tv series that I was running out of space to put them. Enter my dad and an old junky shotgun cabnet I got for less than 50 bucks.

I forgot to take a before pic. It was old, dirty and faded. The moment we moved it the feet fell off, one of the doors stuck and the drawer would not budge. My dad turned it from that mess to this.

He added shelves, refinished it(in the middle of winter!) and cut down the bottom to get it to fit where I wanted it.

Filled with my tv series. The three binders on top are all my dvd movies.

Since I cant seem to stand a blank spot in my house I decorated the side with some fairy stickers I had. This side faces my living room so I wanted it to be pretty.

It fits just where i wanted it and to me looks perfect. I love the way my dad shows me how much he loves me.  Grin

Your dad sounds like a really sweet guy.

Look twice, buy once. Nooooo
Look twice, decide I can make one instead.

Tell your Dad he rocks Grin! Wonderful work in fixing the cabinet, it looks really pretty now and I can just imagine what it must have been like before. It's great to have someone like a crafty loving Dad around.
My Dad also used to build the most amazing things for me before he became to ill to do it.  Grin Now he helps whenever I come up with a weird idea for things I want. That way I'm slowly learning how to work with manly stuff like saws and wood  Wink
