Here's another little baby quilt (and hopefully the last for awhile...).

The mother is Japanese, and the baby (currently being referred to as “Pumpkin”) is a girl, so when I saw this pattern: http://www.magpiepatterns.com/product-details.php?ProductID=EM003CS&DesignerCode=CS97201 my adrenaline level spiked a little bit. I was determined to incorporate it into the finished product.

I used a log cabin style pattern to frame the embroidery. I was improvising and making it up as I went along, using scraps from my stash.

The backing is a gorgeous print from Anna Maria Horner's Innocent Crush line. I love it.

I think one of the reasons I love this one so much is that it was created without a plan, under pressure, required A LOT of improvising, and there are at least a dozen mistakes to show for it. Despite all that, it turned out beautiful (if I do say so myself - and I do).

Love it! It looks great, I'm impressed with the embroidery.  And I think the style of it (log cabin like) done this way makes it look modern and really shows off the embroidery well.
