My daughters were invited to a birthday party with only 2 days notice and we were broke until a few days later. What to give the 10-year-old birthday girl?
I came up with this. It is made from really thick leftover corrugated cardboard that my hubby brought home from work for me to use in another project (which I will post at a later date).

My daughters helped me paint and prep a couple of the embellishments so they liked it too.

Progress shot:

Wrapped the edges so they would be flat instead of showing the corrugated insides.

I might make us some when I get a chance. After Halloween...

This is lovely!  It is great that you involved your children in the making of it and that you saved moola!

This is so beautiful! And perfect for a 10 year old girl. Or for a 36 year old mom! I want one! Love the feathers.

Aw that's great! Very good last minute creativeness. I'm sure she loved it.
