So it's about that time of year again... one or two crisp spring mornings make me all pine-y for fall and my favorite holiday.  Even though I can't fully costume-up on the job for Halloween, I am allowed to accessorize.  So I decided to make some super-cute headbands to expand my Halloween accessories collection:

Glittery black spider web:

Sugar Skull:

Purple spider web (w/ rhinestone and wire spider, who was pain to make but now has about a dozen friends all over my house)

Spooky moon and trees:

Only about five more months before I can use them....  Oh, who am I kidding.  I already wore the skull grocery shopping.  : )  Thanks so much for looking!

Thanks so much for the feedback!  I'm sorry it took me so long to get back here.  Hopefully better late than never, here are the "ingredients" for the hats.

1.  Purple Spider Web - Hard purple felt, various sized black rhinestones, 26 Ga black wire (for the spider legs), and black 3/8'' elastic cord (for the headband), lotsa fabri-tac.

2.  Sugar Skull - Three layers of regular craft felt (two ivory, one black for the backing), black tulle, assorted buttons, black plastic headband, LOTS of hot glue

3.  Black Glitter Spider Web - Glitter foam sheet, little glitter spider clip (not handmade), silver headband, oodles of hot glue.

4.  Spooky Moon - pre-cut felt shapes (owls and trees), two layers of regular craft felt in ivory (front and back for moon), brown headband, yet more hot glue.

Mostly they were SUPER easy to make.  The hardest thing to make was the little rhinestone spider on the purple web.  It was agony to get his felt back to stay on without all his little legs splaying and turning and making him look like a sad, smooshed spider.  I can't wait to make more now that the local craft stores are starting to put out halloween colored felts and foams!
