Package #3

Today I received my final package from my partner A2JC4life!  It was full of all sorts of wonderful surprises:

Fun stamps to add to my collection along with an awesome silver ink pad (soooo pretty), my favorite candies (yea), tiki ice cube tray (I collect them -awesome!), A skirt pattern to help me learn to sew! some colorful makeup - I consider make-up a craft and I paint my face everyday   And a wonderful VISUALLY teach yourself to crochet book, that may actually get me crocheting (the instructions inside and the pattern are GREAT).

AND she carved me some wonderful stamps!  They are 3 of my favorite things, Hippos, owls and Jasmine flowers!

Thank you for all the wonderful packages!  It has been a great swap!

So I received from Linnybelle today for my Package 3 and It's really cool!

I got this Art Quilt Square which I have never really seen one before. Based on my favorite holiday Halloween, Black and Red (which are my favorite colors too!) And it's a spider web! The spiders are metal and the spider web is I believe hand stitched with silver metallic thread. I don't know much about quilting but it looks AWESOME! It also has hanging tabs, just haven't figured out where I wanna hang it up at.

Then the rest of the package is a bird silhouette and a canvas square that has stars on it and gave me a better idea for decorating my room! The last this is a fabric treasure container thing... I cannot find the letter but it's something specific and in Japanese culture it is made by hand as a gift so therefore Linnybelle hand stitched it.. which is really cool (mainly because I can't hand stitch at all haha). I already put my Rosary necklace in it. The back is made with musical note fabric which i love music!





I can't wait to find places for all my decor to find a place on my walls!

The quilt is hand quilted, you are right, SilentMynerva.  I'm glad you like it!  The little bag is from a book called Omiyage, by Kumiko Sudo and she calls it a Chrysanthemum bag.

I like the silk scarf a few packages down.  It's so pretty.  The bird table mat is great too.

I received the loveliest sweater in a slightly sparkly green color.  It will be great for wearing to work, since I can't wear tank tops without something on top of them.

SilentMynerva said it's called a moth wing pattern and it's really pretty.  The sparkles didn't show up very well in the picture.  It's made from thread instead of yarn, so it took a very long time.  I'm very excited to wear it!

I also now have two more fat quarters, which is always a good thing.

I'm going to use the cat one to make a little girl I know a bag and the purple one will go nicely with some other purples that I have.

This was a great swap!  Thanks to my partner and also our organizers!

That spider quilt is pretty amazing.

Southern_Flower, we love that crochet book.  We recently discovered it at the library (along with some other craft titles in the series), and it is so well done.  I think my daughter is getting a copy for Christmas.

I am nearly done with my re-started large!! Today has been a most productive day. I hate being late, but losing things has been my mortal enemy lately. I was soooo stoked on the embroidery project I was working on for #3. Apparently I am a VERY slow embroiderer but a very fast sew-er (with out the dash it looks like sewer where the ninja turtles live.....have to have the dash )

Ok Here is the Moth Wings Shrug that I made for Linnybelle!
It is called a Moth Wings Shrug by Mimi Alelis and I found it in the Summer 2010 edition of Interweave Crochet.

The color in the picture is pretty close (It is a pretty green color) and the last picture shows some of the sparkly-ness of the thread. This is one of the first times I really finished something using such a small hook so it has some oopsys.





I hope to make another one soon for myself
