This was super cheap and easy and looks great in my kitchen! I hung one by kitchen door and hang my purse/keys on it.

Supplies:
Spoons (bought at a thrift store - the fancier the handle the better  Smiley )
A wooden plaque I bought @ Michael's
Paint

Basically I hammered the spoon flat using both a rubber mallet and a hammer. I did it outside - I put a towel down on the cement and pounded away. To make the hook portion I actually bent the handle over the metal fence at my friend's casa and used the rubber mallet to make it round.

Then I drilled holes through the spoon and used little nails to attach it to the wood.

The hardest part was getting the spoon flat but all in all it was a pretty easy project. It'll be quicker the second time around - I'm hoping to make a few for gifts.

Fantastic!  And I like the idea of using them for drawer pulls, too...which leads me to thinking about kitchen cabinet "knobs" as well....
