I love this necklace, with a passion. My sister gave me this dead bee. Yeah, my family knows to give me the dead insects. I don't kill bugs for this, I usually find them dead.

Anyway, here it is:

I'm sorry the picture isn't very good. I used my webcam.

So, I cast the bee in the resin then wrapped the wire around it. I get a lot of compliments on it.

I like this! kinda reminds me of the movie Jurassic Park when the mosquito was found in the amber..and they made dinosaurs out of it.  I think a spider would look cool too.

I've seen one where someone did a spider. I want to sooo bad but by the time I find dead spiders (usually in my basement) they are all curled up. If I was going to do that, I'd want it to be spread out, you know?

Also, thank you  Grin

I'm wondering if you put the curled up spider in the resin..if it would soften enough to stretch out the legs a bit?  I think it would still look cool curled up.

That is too cool! It makes me sad to look at (in a good way) because its all curled up like a fetus or a person crying. If I EVER get resin molds I would love to do this with one of my honeybees (a dead one of course). Is there a special way to do this? Air bubbles?

What kind of bee is that, bumble bee, drone bee? It looks too much like a wasp for me to completely adore it (phobic of wasps but like the fuzzy honey bees and such) which could be for any reason at all from it being dead for a certain amount of days to the type, but I do love what you have done with the wire and the shape of the resin, even the way the thing is curled up like that. I clicked on this though and instantly broke out in a cold sweat and felt dizzy haha.

I didn't do anything special except pour it in layers otherwise the bee would float around. The air bubbles that showed up rose to the top and I popped them with a pin.

Thank you!

I'm really sorry >_< It may very well be a wasp. I didn't think it was because it doesn't look like the ones hanging out around my house.

Thank you everyone!!
