I feel like I finally got some of my sewing mojo back! I kept thinking about a new design for a case for the first iPad.  I really like the "roll up" design of the smart case for the ipad2, and kept mulling over how I could integrate that idea into my basic design, and this is what I came up with. Magnetic closure (totally safe, iPad is solid state), a pouch for the SD card reader/USB reader thingees, and a slot for my beloved stylus.  What do you think? Anything you'd add or change?

On the outside fabric, I used fusible fleece. On the inside fabric, I used medium weight fusible interfacing, then inserted timtex on the inside.  For the support, I cut pieces of pressboard (MDF?). It's very sturdy and protected!

It's cool, the only thing they say dint put a magnet. It's not good for the ipad. Put a snap. Other wise it's real nice.

This is amazing! I love how you made it roll up <3
I don't think you need to add or change a thing =)
The only thing is, I would have used a more monotone fabric, but to each his own.

Magnets are actually fine for the iPad since it's a solid state hard drive. The smart case for the ipad2 is almost totally magnetic, and I did lots of research before risking even a small magnet. I'd be so upset if anything happened to my prrrrecious! Wink
