Hi guys! Smiley  I think this is the first project I've shared. I'm new-ish to sewing...been doing it about a year and half, on and off.

Started with a yellow t-shirt and modified the neckline. This was the first time I've tried a blind-hem stitch, and it's a bit flawed. However I think it adds to the 'rawness' of the shirt.

I cut out the trunk freehand from a scrap of green cotton and machine-sewed it onto the shirt, off-center. I then freehanded the frayed leaves from various scraps, mostly from scrap leftovers of my dad's 1970s ties that I made into a skirt over the winter.

Comments welcome. Thanks for looking! (I don't have 10 posts yet so here are the links! Hope I can still enter the contest?)

Cute. I like all the different colors and textures of the leaves.

The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese. . . . I would rather have cheese.

Thanks guys. I really appreciate the positive feedback.

I definitely learn things with every project I do! It is still a big learning experience at this point, haha. Smiley
