You absolutely can dye the yarn after you've made your project, there's just a few things you don't want to find out the hard way! To save yourself the mess go to the laundromat and do this in one of their large capacity washers. Get an extra box of dye and plan on using it -that's a lot of yardage you are looking to cover, allow extra time too. At least half again what they suggest. Before you are going to dye you need to rinse your project in water that has baking soda added to it-no detergent or softener. You want all of the hand oils, treatments and anything else washed out . There is also a fixative you can buy and add to your dye bath that helps your fibers accept the dye better. I'm assuming there is acrylic in this yarn so it may be a good idea to get some. Last but not least -- Wear gloves and old clothes you really don't care about, I'm sure you see why!   Have fun and let us know how it went.

Lacy fingerless gloves, doilies, hats, scarfs, purses, jewlery, scrunchies, coasters, candy dishes, cozies for cell phones and or ipods, amigurami, dishclothes, potholders, soapsavers, socks or slippers, stockings, placemats, headbands, pillowcases, baby blankets, laptop case, flowers, garland. Ok, I ran out of ideas but you get the point, anything and everything!
