For her birthday, I bought my friend a necklace on etsy and then today I saw this card today and I was reminded that for years I've wanted to make a rosette ribbon style brooch and got inspired to finally do it and use it as a topper for her package.

All the parts are from my stash; some new, some vintage.  I sewed a few things, but most of it is glued which surprised me as going in I expected for it to be mostly sewn.

I hand sewed the bead trim to the interfaced burlap between each bead and love how tidy it looks.

Her initials are LRH.

The back:

This is her 47th birthday.

I'm so happy that I was able to over come the hurdle I had to starting this project!  Grin  It probably took about 3 hours with all the searching, sorting and assembling.  I hope I can stay inspired and motivated to make another soon.  I'll give it to her tonight at her semi-surprise birthday dinner - I sure hope she likes it!   Undecided

Love it! It's gorgeous, the colours are fab. And really, who doesn't need a ribbon/rosette?

Thank you!  I'm kind of proud at my color combinations on the ribbons and getting just enough of the blue in there.   Embarrassed   I might be making one for myself here soon - I was working between 2 color was and the nd one might be mine, all mine.

Thanks!  I'm hoping it turns into a great way to use up all the shorter bits of ribbons and lace (instead of a way to accumulate more stuff)!

She seemed to really like it and the card!  Thanks, Crazy Bird Lady!

LOL
I always think that too.   Never quite works out that way for me though.

Yeah... I can already see me combing the notions sales and remnants bins rosette supplies.  I already make sure to check all garage/estate sales and thrift stores for such.
