7 inch hoop, embroidery floss and felt applique on flannel

My latest completed project and my current favorite.  It's hard to see in the picture but the thought bubbles stick out a little.  It was my first attempt at stumpwork and it was completely accidental.  I wanted to redo the thought bubbles because the text wasn't straight.  I didn't want to risk damaging the fabric so I just stitched a new piece of felt on over the top.  I love how it turned out in the end!  Oh and the scientific names I threw in just cuz  Tongue

here it is in its lovely new flexi hoop!  I covered the back with a piece of felt to hide the raw edges of the flannel. . . it looks quite nice Smiley  Also here is the blog post about this piece (I made a horrible craftster faux pas and linked it to my main page before. . .how embarrassing)  Embarrassed http://embroidnerd.tumblr.com/post/4741488118/several-miles-above-the-surface-of-an-alien

rooocks...great work on all of it!

This crafter is out of service most of the rest of 2015 due to a wild schedule, swapping once in a while when I can't fight the feeling anymore ("I've forgotten what I started fighting fooooor...").
Personal swaps: I have lots of home-grown rosemary and white sage available, plus altered journals.

I love this!
It is funny and very well made.
'Saving' the text bubbles made them even better, I think.
The piece has such a finished look, because of the little details (mud spilling, the vertical lines that suggest movement).
Great job!

Infinitely awesome.
Great work!

I think my favorite part is the scientific names - like they're having a coyote/road runner-style race for the ground. Haha.
