I was really unsure of where to put this, so miscellaneous topics it is! I took a relief printmaking class a couple years ago and really enjoyed the woodblock prints we did. There's something about carving wood that is so satisfying.  I loved the look of the block itself.  I did this for Mother's Day last year.  I carved the flowers and then did a quick wash-paint job so the wood grain would still show through.

The whole thing is about 1 x 2 feet. My mom loves it!

This is great! I would love it, too! I really like the effect of the wood grain along with the paint.
